Global market analysis giants such as Nielsen are releasing data on consumer travel trends. The results are in and it is clear that the travel business is picking up as travellers begin to express their individuality through their choice of destinations, airlines and hotels. The length of a trip may vary from long-term stays to day trips. However, hotel preference is the most important choice to be made since it establishes the destination choice and identifies the type of experience that the traveller will have. 64% of people, for example, would like to stay in a well-designed resort and do nothing more than spend quality time in the spa, eating good food and participating in unique sports activities on the beach, in the mountains or, often, just in the on-site health facilities. Premium full-service resorts are, consequently, becoming hot destinations, resulting in higher and higher expectations from the consumer regarding quality of experience and design style.

When there’s a demand, there’s a market. And CHIL Interior Design has already distinguished itself as a creator of top-end experiences internationally through projects such as the heavily frequented Honua Kai Resort in Hawaii and the iconic Fairmont Waterfront Hotel in Vancouver.

This year樱花乱, CHIL was invited to participate in an extraordinary, ground-breaking resort development in Cambodia, one of Southeast Asia’s newest vacation hotspots. Located in the seaside town of Sihanoukville, the project incorporates three options of hospitality which reflect three different categories of experience – from 3-star to 5-star, all provided in adjacent facilities and all operated by three related hotel brands.

Begun in November, 2016, the project is now in its construction phase. Utilizing the same beautiful beachfront location, guests have the option to tailor their experience according to their own needs and pocketbooks. All of the hotels are located by Victory Beach at King’s Harbor. Choosing the 3-star, 4-star or 5-star option in no way diminishes the view or the public amenities associated with the prominent seaside.

In this particular project, CHIL has partnered with its partner company, B+H Architects, in the creation of a fully-integrated design whereby B+H creates the overall architectural concept to which CHIL brings their focus to the interior components and planning, as well as creating the design elements that allow each guest, no matter the class of hotel, a fully enjoyable experience. Together, they have conceived of a resort which operates at different levels, from basic to premium,臧黎璐 without compromising any guest’s joy in being fully immersed in a beautiful古武斗皇 , well-designed environment.

Primary consideration for all three hotels’ interior concepts was to take advantage of Cambodia's spectacular seaside views and pleasant natural environment. In designing guestrooms and public areas such as lobbies and restaurants, an effort was made to maximize already existing natural elements outdoors, creating indoor/outdoor spaces which fuse together, seemingly effortlessly. Each guestroom allows the occupant the serenity of looking out onto a beach view with undulating waves and palm trees, from different angles. Public areas encompass parts of the surrounding rainforest to always create a feeling of freshness and harmony with nature. Future design elements will include a greater variety of restaurants, open to all, conference facilities, a selection of spas and空气伞 , of course thematically inspired swimming pools.

Variations exist in the interior design for the three hotels. The operators of the 3-star hotel, for example, would like their guests to feel relaxed from the moment they check in. To create this casual atmosphere, CHIL uses playful graphics as a primary feature in the hotel’s public areas. Liberal applications of bright reds and greens in the lobby日本狐狸犬 , mixed with strong graphics on the walls, are reminiscent of the jungle. The powerful visual effect is both playful and topical and is meant to make the guest feel refreshed and relaxed from the moment they arrive.
四星级酒店的设计更加注重人文关怀,利用东南亚当地的特色元素,将自然和人文概念同时融合到卧室的设计当中,也对公共区域进行了呼应。床头板木质的弧形嵌板是当地的传统装潢,这种亲切的地方元素和其艺术的陈列方式将无疑会提升用户的入住体验。

The 4-star hotel brings in human design elements native to Southeast Asia, offering both nature as well as a more complicated and premium human cultural element in the decoration of the bedrooms as well as corresponding public spaces. Wooden curved paneling on the bedroom wall, for example臭鼬猿 , is traditional to the area and adds a touch of local warmth to the guest’s experience by acting both as a feature headboard wall as well as art installation.

而最高端的五星级酒店则融入了很多国际美学概念,装饰性线条和家具都运用了现代化的设计手法,比起本土元素而言,则是更多的运用了欧洲元素。现代和开放的设计让顾客在享受自己舒适房间的同时也可以用一种别样的方式感受室外的自然景观。

The most premium 5-star hotel分手妹 , on the other hand, incorporates a more international aesthetic into its interiors. Elements such as mouldings and furniture reflect a modern approach, more typically European than local. The feeling of “contemporary” and “open” will allow the guests to relax in the comfort of their own rooms and reflect on the natural scenery outside in a different way.

Utilizing the beauty of a natural location to create a “3-in-1” resort community is new to Southeast Asia. No single environment can be thought to be inferior to any of the others; merely different. Just as the concept of what is comfortable varies from person to person, so do the designs which cater to these personal perspectives. One resort community with multiple facilities that can be shared by all, with each guest offered three distinct hospitality design options; such a resort has the potential to bring the guest back, upgrading their experience each time according to their design taste.
